Central to the city shopping district, museums, art galleries, the Strand and beach amenities, this quiet and very clean hostel is great value for money. The owner operators are consistently friendly and helpful as well. I stayed for 9 nights and was able to easily walk to all the main sights then come back for a really restful sleep. Wifi connectivity is available and there are useful dispensing machines for things you may have forgotten. DVDs and some books are available via the main office and a few essential supplies as well. I loved the Japanese suit of armour in the office and the gentle Asian style decor. A bright, breezy and relaxing stay! This iOS a great place to stay. Now has free wifi too! Nice and clean, good facilities and well kept up. I'm a bit confused about a couple of the more bizarre reviews recently as I was there at those times and these things didn't happen, but there are always weirdos around who want to write dumb stuff. Reef lodge is a great facility to stay a few nights or a longer period. Dean and Simone are excellent hosts and that's why I have been coming back there for some 8 years and counting. Their lodge is conveniently located at the end of the nightlife strip and 4 minutes walk to the beautiful strand and beach or the heart of the city. Dean and Simone are involved with their guests and provide every facility, from a great big kitchen to free WiFi and a pool/fitness room which all ads to a great stay. Add to that clean and neat rooms and showers and why would you even think of going somewhere else? Well what can't I say, from when we got there to when we left 5 days later we where treated with all the respect and privacy from both the lodgers as well as management. To Simone and Dean we can't compliment you enought on the way the Reef Lodge is run and how willing you are to help in any little way needed, one of the best things is the close proximity everything is in walking distance. We will be staying again and would recommend it to all our family and friends and would suggest to anybody else to a least consider the Reef Lodge for your holiday.
